"A Circus Hitched to a Tornado: Arkansas Politics in the 20th Century" Exhibit
Old State House Museum
The title for this exhibit on Arkansas politics is drawn from a Saturday Evening Post reporter's description of Senator Hattie Caraway's whirlwind canvass with Huey Long in 1932. Noted political writers Jay Barth and Ernie Dumas serve as co-curators for this panorama of Arkansas politics in the last century from the perspective of that era's dozen most important elections.
Museum hours: 9am-5pm, Monday-Saturday and 1-5pm Sunday.

2008 Summer Camps at the Museum of Discovery May 01, 2008 to June 01, 2008
Registration is now open for the Museum of Discovery's 2008 summer camps. Summer camps are held weekly June 2- August 4 at the Museum of Discovery.
Summer camps offer a safe, supervised activity designed to keep the child's mind and body active during the summer. Museum summer camps focus on science and technology and take a hands-on, interactive approach to make learning fun.
Camps run Monday- Friday and half-day or all-day camps are available. Camp prices are $150 half-day or $250 for all-day ($125/$225 for members). Science Discoveries Holiday Camp is offered June 30- July 4 and can be purchased daily or weekly at $35 per day or $150 per week.

Certified AR Farmer's Market May 03, 2008 to October 31, 2008
The first Certified Arkansas Farmer's Market in Argenta, the heart of historic North Little Rock, opened for business on Saturday, May 3 at 7a.m. It is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7a.m. until Noon in the parking lot on Main Street in North Little Rock between 4th and 5th Streets next to the Main Street Post Office. The Market is located on the River Rail Trolley route and has an abundance of FREE parking around the market.
This is the first Certified Arkansas Farmer's Market in North Little Rock. Some of the state's top local farmers provide all types of local produce, meats, poultry, eggs and plants. Until now, Arkansas has not has a sanctioned or state supported farmer's market or terminal market with a mission to support local farmers. The Certified Arkansas Farmer's Market is the only statewide market to completely embrace and utilize the Arkansas Grown logo and guidelines. Everything sold at the market will have been grown through a certified Arkansas Producer, either certified by the market manager, market mentors, and/or the State Plant Board, under the supervision of the CAFM market committee.

This monumental, three-part exhibition brings together the most exciting work in the history of art glass, featuring over 120 works of dazzling color, delicacy, and strength. The exhibition features Sonja Blomdahl, organized by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, which charts the tantalizing work of the Seattle glass artist who uses glowing color and elegant form to create works of serenity and power. The Glass Century, organized by the Arkansas Arts Center, explores how art glass changed from decorative to expressive art in the 20th century. Drawn from some of the nation’s finest collections, this exhibition contains spectacular works by major innovators from Tiffany to Chihuly. Beyond Blown Glass, organized by the Arkansas Arts Center, examines contemporary art glass by the most inventive and exciting artists in the field today and offers new new visions of the beauty and expressive power of glass as an art form.
